Sales Estimator [HT-958041]
URBAN WATERPROOFING
SALES ESTIMATOR
Do you thrive on tackling complex projects, analyzing details, and delivering accurate, tailored solutions? Are you just as confident reviewing specs and measurements as you are meeting a client on-site or guiding a conversation? If so, we want to talk to you!
As a Sales Estimator, you are:
- Sharp and technical: With a solid foundation in estimating, construction, or general contracting, you’re detail-oriented, strong with numbers, and eager to learn more about waterproofing.
- Curious and consultative: You don’t stop at surface-level answers—you quickly filter information to get to the heart of the matter. You ask thoughtful questions, dig deep into the "why," and proactively uncover better ways to meet client needs.
- Resilient and approachable: You handle peaks and valleys with confidence. Whether troubleshooting a challenge or shifting gears to meet your goals, you don’t shy away from hard work and keep moving forward.
- Relational and outgoing: You are comfortable in client-facing roles and love being part of the solution. Clients trust you because you're approachable, energetic, and genuinely invested in finding the right solutions.
- And you connect the dots: You absorb new information fast, connect it to what you already know, and apply it in real time. You think a few steps ahead, ask sharp questions, and pick up on patterns that others miss.
You have a go-getter attitude, managing your time like a pro, keeping the deal moving, and staying a step ahead. For you, this role goes beyond quoting work - it’s about being responsive, detail-driven, and solving real-world client needs with clarity and follow-through. Clients and teammates never have to wonder where things stand because you’re organized, clear, and consistently offer customized solutions.
In this role, you’ll dive into the technical side of estimating, grow trusted client relationships, and creatively problem-solve - with opportunities to expand your sales skills and make a meaningful impact, all while charting a strong path forward in your career.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Sales Estimator, you’ll take ownership of accurate estimating while building strong client relationships, with opportunities to expand into sales responsibilities over time. Projects can range from short-term emergency jobs to complex work lasting six months to a year.
You will:
- Assess site and client needs, develop clear scopes of work, and produce detailed, accurate estimates—including identifying potential risks, assumptions, and exclusions
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to stay on top of material pricing, labor availability, and scheduling needs
- Earn client trust by providing reliable guidance, tailored solutions, and clear estimates that set projects up for success
- Support business development through referrals, networking, and client follow-up, with mentorship and training to grow in this area over time
- Balance accurate estimating with thoughtful client relationship management, ensuring clarity and follow-through from first contact through project delivery
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and lunch-and-learns to grow visibility and credibility in the marketplace
- Stay current on market trends, labor rates, and cost shifts to keep estimates competitive and aligned with real-world conditions
- Track leads and manage your pipeline using CRM and Excel, keeping records clean, accurate, and up to date
- Collaborate with project managers post-sale to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent client satisfaction
- Participate in sales training and mentorship to expand your client-facing skill set, with opportunities to grow into full-cycle sales responsibilities over time
- Maintain clear, responsive communication across clients and internal teams
- Look for smart opportunities to grow revenue through thoughtful add-ons and client-focused recommendations, without compromising quality
