RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of our General Manager include, but are not limited to:
Operational Leadership:
- Execute the owner’s vision while aligning day-to-day operations with long-term objectives.
- Oversee daily operations across the business to ensure performance and profitability.
- Refine and maintain processes that support efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
- Manage labor, materials, gross profit, and margins.
Sales & Marketing
- Set ambitious yet achievable sales and growth targets for the team and company.
- Oversee marketing strategy, including Google and local service ads, outbound customer calls, and marketing spend.
- Create, implement, and continuously improve the sales process to drive top-line revenue.
- Monitor return on investment and adjust tactics to maximize impact.
Team Development & Accountability
- Work closely with the Barnett Plumbing leadership team and Growth and Scaling Coach to drive professional development and operational excellence.
- Formalize team structures and coach employees to reach their full potential
- Lead weekly Level 10 meetings and quarterly updates to ensure alignment and clear communication.
- Hold teams accountable for results while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Financial Management & Strategic Planning
- Oversee and refine the plumbing division to support sustainable growth and profitability.
- Develop the annual budget and manage expenses to achieve financial goals.
- Participate in hiring for key positions to strengthen leadership and operational capacity.
- Spend the majority of the time (90–95%) working in the office to provide hands-on leadership.
** This is an onsite, in-person position based in Livermore, CA **
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience managing residential plumbing service teams of 5 or more people.
- Full P&L responsibility for $10M+ in annual revenue.
- Experience creating, implementing, and maintaining processes and procedures.
- Experience leading cross-functional departments.
- Solid understanding of sales and marketing fundamentals.
Preferred:
- Prior hands-on plumbing field experience.
- P&L oversight at the $15M+ level.
- Experience developing quarterly and annual budgets.
- Experience designing and launching new divisions (such as plumbing, HVAC, or excavation).
- Experience managing teams in electrical or HVAC services.
- Local to Northern California.
Desired:
- A proven track record as a turnaround leader, successfully transforming underperforming operations.

SALARY: $150K - $246K with additional bonus opportunities
