RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Director of Operations include but are not limited to:

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Acts as a strategic partner to the President, offering insights informed by operations and key performance metrics
  • Collaborates across functions to ensure alignment with company goals, including partnering with the Director of Finance on budgets and external legal counsel on compliance
  • Oversees the strategic direction of property-level marketing efforts, ensuring consistency and effectiveness while supporting execution by on-site property managers

Team Building & Leadership Development

  • Builds and strengthens the regional team through recruitment, coaching, supporting and training efforts, partnering with external HR resources as needed
  • Develops property managers into strong, independent leaders through coaching, mentorship, and both hard and soft skill development

Operational Oversight

  • Leads day-to-day property operations, providing hands-on coaching and operational guidance across the portfolio
  • Champions a high standard of customer service marked by responsiveness, approachability, and care
  • Establishes clear expectations and maintains transparent communication to ensure team alignment and accountability

Process & Performance Excellence

  • Maximizes Net Operating Income (NOI) and occupancy rates through strategic planning, oversight, and operational execution
  • Ensures financial targets are met by monitoring revenue, managing expenses, and driving operational efficiency
  • Continuously evaluates and improves processes, reinforcing adherence to standards while encouraging input from on-site teams
  • Maintains accurate documentation systems to support compliance, consistency, and operational clarity

** This is a full-time, in-person position based in Southfield, MI. **

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years of operations leadership experience at the Director level or above
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, or other relevant degree
  • Proven business and financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, and optimizing NOI

Preferred

  • Experience leading teams within a property management environment
  • Demonstrated oversight of property-level marketing efforts
  • 10+ years of leadership experience (at any level)
  • Background in customer service, with an emphasis on delivering high-touch client experiences

Desired

  • Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) experience

Salary: $125,000 - $150,000, plus up to 25% performance-based bonus
