RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Quality Assurance team, including hiring, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for QA-related issues, resolving challenges effectively.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure full compliance with FDA regulations and other applicable standards, including CGMP, organic/non-GMO, Leaping Bunny (cruelty-free), and ISO 22716.
- Act as the company’s subject matter expert (or become one) in FDA and international compliance requirements, providing guidance and training across teams.
- Oversee compliance initiatives, including obtaining, maintaining, and implementing relevant certifications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with R&D to understand product formulations, troubleshoot issues, and support product testing and quality improvements.
- Work closely with stakeholders and leadership to identify and communicate QA needs, including potential equipment purchases or process changes.
- Collaborate across departments to identify risks, resolve quality challenges, and ensure seamless product development and production.
Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and improve internal QA standards and processes, ensuring commitment to high-quality, safe, and effective products.
- Analyze and monitor department KPIs, recommending new metrics where needed and collaborating with leadership to align on performance goals.
- Identify opportunities to evolve and streamline quality procedures for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Product & Lab Oversight
- Participate in internal lab testing processes and ensure data accuracy; must be comfortable interpreting lab reports and guiding decision-making based on results.
- Support R&D during lab testing phases, helping validate the quality and integrity of products before they reach the market.
** This is an onsite, in-person position based in the Columbus, OH area **
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 3 years of QA Management experience in a relevant industry such as food, cosmetics, or supplements
- 5 years of experience working with leadership teams
- Proven experience managing teams of 10 or more direct reports
- Background in a manufacturing environment
- Experience developing and maintaining QA processes and procedures
- Experience cross-functional collaboration with multiple departments
Preferred
- Hands-on experience in consumable manufacturing – food, cosmetics, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP)
- Familiarity with ERP systems for QA or manufacturing operations
Desired
- Experience with ISO 22716 (Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices – International Standard)
- Lean 6 Sigma certification

SALARY: $75K - $90, bonus opportunity
