RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Director of Accounting include but are not limited to:
Process Improvement and Team Development:
- Implement efficient processes, such as digital invoicing, and optimize workflows
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the accounting team and the company
- Mentor and train the accounting team, fostering professional growth
Financial Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including billing and collections
- Prepare monthly billing drafts and review unbilled detail reports
- Review AIA forms, cash receipts, and other financial reports for accuracy
- Prepare month-end financial statements and manage the P&L statement
- Ensure timely payment to subcontractors and review employee expenses
- Maintain financial records for additional companies, overseeing deposits and expenses
Compliance and Reporting:
- Manage tax obligations, including quarterly reviews and year-end reports for accountants
- Supervise audit processes and assist with year-end planning
** This is an in-person position based in East Norriton, PA (Philadelphia Metro Area). **
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 5+ years of accounting leadership experience (Director level or above)
- 10+ years of accounting or finance experience across various levels
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of tax compliance and GAAP principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience overseeing billing processes
Preferred
- Experience in the engineering, construction, or land development industry
- Familiarity with Deltek and/or QuickBooks software
- Experience in mentoring or training, including developing training programs
- Experience in process optimization
Desired
- Relevant Master’s degree and/or MBA
