RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Senior Accountant role include, but are not limited to:
Financial Reporting and Close
- Lead the monthly and year end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring they are reliable for ownership, lenders, and external partners
- Perform reconciliations and maintain clean, accurate books across all accounts
- Support annual reviews and collaborate with external accounting and CPA firms
Cash Management and Treasury
- Manage daily cash activity across multiple bank accounts, including transfers and overall cash positioning
- Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast and ensure strong visibility into liquidity
- Monitor banking activity and approve transactions to uphold financial controls
Accounting Operations
- Oversee AP and AR functions, including supervision of staff and approval of payables
- Maintain inventory, cost accounting, and fixed asset schedules, including depreciation
- Ensure accurate and efficient day-to-day accounting operations
Compliance and Tax
- Prepare and file sales tax, Ohio CAT, and other required filings accurately and on time
- Maintain compliance calendars and support external tax and audit processes
Reporting, Analysis, and Process Improvement
- Provide internal reporting and financial insights to support decision making
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline accounting processes
- Partner with leadership and external firms to build scalable financial infrastructure and reduce reliance on outsourced support
** This is a full-time, in-person position based in Columbus, OH with local travel between job sites required. **
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience across multiple functions
- Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use formulas to analyze and manipulate data
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accrual and cash basis accounting
- Experience working in a hands-on accounting role with broad exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day operations
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Experience within companies in the $20M to $100M range, with exposure to more complex accounting environments
- Experience working across multiple entities or sets of books, including AP and AR oversight
- Background in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting
- Exposure to cash management, treasury functions, and financial forecasting
- Willingness to operate in a hands-on environment and work approximately 40 to 50 hours per week as needed
Desired
- Experience with Gravity or similar multi-entity, multi-dimensional accounting systems such as Yardi or comparable ERP platforms

Salary: $90k - $105k + performance-based bonus
